Relationship Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Lead significant client engagements with direct interface with multi-generational family members
  • Development of new client relationships
  • Relationship formation and engagement with multi-disciplinary network of outside professionals (e.g., bankers, attorneys, investment managers, etc.)
  • Development of team members in technical and soft-skill areas
  • Integration of firm resources to meet clients’ needs
  • Review of client income tax returns for partnerships, LLCs, trusts, and individuals
  • Review of client financial statements and management reports
  • Providing tax and financial planning advice for clients
  • Spearheading and participating in special client and firm projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MAcc or MBA degree preferred.
  • CPA certification
  • 10+ years related experience
  • Public accounting firm experience highly relevant
  • Strong financial acumen and significant analytical and supervisory skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for entrepreneurship and innovation

  • Knowledge of CCH ProSystem fx, mainstream accounting software

SPRING OR SUMMER INTERN

Are you looking to get a jump start on real-world experience in a public accounting firm? Join our team! We are looking for a qualified senior student majoring in accounting. This opportunity will allow you to go from textbook to real work life, with the possibility to earn college credit while gaining experience and learning on the job. The internship is for Spring or Summer 2020 with negotiable hours. This position could lead to long-term opportunities with the Burkhart team.

Responsibilities:

  • Tax compliance and planning for businesses, family partnerships, trusts, and individuals
  • Accounting and financial reporting

Qualifications:

  • Senior year accounting major who has taken at least one tax course
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with speed, accuracy, ease, and professionalism without immediate and constant supervision
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • “Can do” attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client data
